S.R.O.H.P. is an organization established in 2001 with the aim of contributing to the improvement of performance in pediatric oncology services, guided by the vision of increasing the chances of survival and the quality of life for children with cancer/survivors in Romania.
S.R.O.H.P. serves as the academic forum for specialists in pediatric oncology, focusing primarily on continuously raising practice standards and the prestige of the specialty by ensuring that members are constantly updated with the latest scientific information in the field. It advocates for aligning medical training programs in the specialty in Romania with current international standards, participating in national and international scientific research in pediatric cancers and hematologic diseases, and developing health policies that respond to the realities and needs of caring for children with cancer in Romania.
In addition to its renowned scientific activities, over the past decade, the organization has gained extensive experience in cooperation with civil society organizations representing patients, parents, and survivors. This includes developing interdisciplinary communication, advocacy, and thematic networking activities through projects and partnerships with a multitude of organizations and institutions interested in contributing to the improvement of the wellbeing for children with cancer.
