Cell-stimulating factors are drugs that stimulate the growth of some of the blood cells produced in the bone marrow.
Among the most well-known such drugs are:
- Neupogen, which stimulates the multiplication of white cells (leukocytes), which protect the body from infections;
- Erythropoietin, which helps correct anemia.
- These products are administered in association with chemotherapy to speed up the recovery of the bone marrow, inhibited by cytostatic treatment.
