Childhood cancer can be cured!
Curing cancer, especially childhood cancer, is a reality today.
In Romania, following oncopediatric treatment, more than half of the cancers in children are cured!
In Romania, 50-60% of childhood cancers are currently cured. This percentage is global and refers to all types of cancer and all stages of the disease. The chances of healing are the higher the lower the stage of the disease.
Even for patients in whom the chance of cure is low, cancer therapy can be beneficial by improving the quality of life, in the sense that, for example, the painful effects of the disease can be reduced.
Untreated cancer inevitably leads to the death of the child!
In the absence of specific oncological treatment, there is no option to stop the progression of the disease. If for some reason the child does not start the therapy, the malignant cells will continue to multiply, increasing the local destruction. In this way, the symptoms that brought the child to the doctor will worsen. After a while, the cells will migrate through the blood or lymphatic circulation and spread far from their place of origin, destroying the tissues and organs they have invaded.
Oncology treatment is the only one that can offer a real chance of a cure for a child with cancer. It has not yet been proven whether complementary or alternative treatments provide a lasting cure for cancer, which is why their exclusive use is NOT RECOMMENDED and giving up classical medical treatment. Certain such treatments can be used to complement the oncological treatment, taking into account the particularities of the diagnosis and the opinion of the pediatric oncologist regarding the effect they can have on the health of the child.
